Supporting aid organisations is a tradition with EMPL. The company has always shown its special appreciation for the voluntary fire brigades. With the 2005 floodwaters, for instance, a sewage pump was made available to the helpers without a moment’s hesitation. Assisting the country when disaster strikes is matter of course with EMPL!  And regional campaigns or the trip to the Interschutz in Leipzig are also supported, by the way!

On the 8th of May, the Tyrol regional fire brigade could again count on the Zillertal-based company to support its “Day of the fire brigade”. Not only did the company provide the premises for the regional event, but it also organised an interesting framework programme and catering for the invited guests.

The official part of the regional fire brigade event started at 9 a.m. already with the handover of the newly developed “Tyrolean fire brigade principles” to all the district fire brigades and their associations. This comprises of 9 concepts for the comrades to follow when in action. Following two technical presentations and the official handover of 3 new EMPL fire engines (KLF, LF, TLF 1.500) to the regional Tyrol fire fighting school by Dr. Bruno Wallnöfer of the TIWAG, which financially supported the purchase of the vehicles, and the deputy governor chief admin. officer Toni Steixner, an exciting morning drew to a close.

The guests were spoilt with culinary delights in the EMPL canteen with its multiple awards. In the afternoon, EMPL presented a highly interesting framework programme. In addition to the extensive vehicle and equipment show, the participants had the opportunity of inspecting the fire brigade manufacture, newly established in 2007. At the same time, the Zirl “Technical rescue team” demonstrated its skills in rescue operations after road accidents by way of several live demonstrations, attracting much interest among the guests. About 500 fire-fighters from all of Tyrol and Bavaria made sure not to miss the event. The crowning finale was a technical presentation by the renowned and widely respected fire brigade insider Dr. Markus Pulm (chief fire officer at the professional fire brigade Karlsruhe, Germany) on “Fires in enclosed areas”. This “fiery” day came to a relaxed end over a hearty buffet.

Uniquely special EMPL solution in Leipzig

A very special side of EMPL will be on display at this year’s “Interschutz”, the international fire brigade trade fair in Leipzig. On a 600 m² stall area, the manufacturer of custom-made truck bodies will be exhibiting seven fire engines designed especially for the demands of application. The “double-headed dragon” developed for China will be of particular interest. The Austrian vehicle body manufacturer will furthermore present attractive special solutions for fire-fighting vehicles with tank, hazardous materials vehicles, rescue vehicles and support vehicles. Numerous new technologies and ideas have been introduced into the designs. Definitely expect to discover something special at EMPL in Hall 4.

A meticulously designed, mature solution for each fire brigade, each deployment, each environment – this is precisely what EMPL stands for!
