After successful inspection and approval by the Hesse Ministry for the Interior and for Sport (HMdIS) the first nine emergency service vehicles of the LF 10/6 type have now been delivered by EMPL to various fire services in Hesse.
The LF 10/6 vehicles that have been produced by EMPL for the federal state of Hesse are distinguished by their quality and functionality. Technical alterations have been discussed in a constructive and co-operative manner. The superstructure was integrated onto a Mercedes Atego 1122 four-wheel-drive chassis and fitted with a 1,000-litre extinguisher tank. The standard equipment comprises electricity, a motorised saw, lights, a pneumatic lamp mast and a pneumatic lowerable load-bearing nozzle with a 200 kg weight reserve for individual additional loads. The vehicle is produced in honeycomb technology and guarantees optimal corrosion protection as well as stability and lightness. A slight delay in delivery, caused by the participation of EMPL Germany employees in disaster control measures during the recent floods, was understood and completely accepted by the Ministry in Hesse. By the end of the year, 21 vehicles in all are to be supplied. Because the inspection and approval procedure was successful, there is an option for a further 24.
At the beginning of January, nine LF 10/6 emergency service vehicles were supplied to the first fire brigades. These included Groß-Gerau, Erbach, Dietzenbach, Runkel, Wolfenhausen, Dennhausen-Dittershausen, Krumbach, Holzhausen and Stockstadt. The vehicles were handed over to the delegations from the fire brigades with pride. A further 12 will be delivered by the end of the year.
