The “Fire brigade–friendly employer” award ceremony took place at the events hall of the Federal Ministry for the Interior in Vienna at the end of October, organised by the Austrian Federal Fire Brigade Association.
After Empl had already been honoured by the district fire brigade association Schwaz in May 2013, the company now received this award at federal level, too. A total of 18 companies were honoured with this award in Vienna. The companies are nominated by the state fire brigade associations at two-yearly intervals.
PROMINENT POLITICIANS HONOUR ENTREPRENEUR
Minister of the Interior, Mag. Johanna Mikl-Leitner, Minister for Social Affairs Rudolf Hundstorfer and Director-General for Public Safety MMag. Konrad Kogler, greeted the guests of honour. In addition to those receiving awards, ÖBFV president Kern, vice-presidents DI Dr Gerald Hillinger and Armin Blutsch and the state fire brigade commanders attended the event.
Since 2005, a federal award has been presented to employers who give their employees leave in the event of a call-out or who support their regional fire brigade in any special way.
Minister of the Interior Mikl-Leitner, Minister for Social Affairs Hundstorfer, ÖBFV President Kern and State Fire Brigade Commander Hölzl handed over the award, in the shape of a flame, and an official certificate to executive director Josef Empl and a delegation from the Kaltenbach fire brigade, which included the mayor, Klaus Gasteiger.
Executive Director Josef Empl: "I am proud of this award, which I am pleased to accept on behalf of our company and employees. By supporting this voluntary service, we are able to make a major contribution to improving cooperation and ensuring the safety of our municipalities."
