Empl has delivered an extremely flexible vehicle to the Ötztal Glacier Cableway. The special construction facilitates an extensive range of applications, even under the most difficult circumstances.
The MAN TGS 33.480 6x6 BB chassis is a worldwide innovation by the lorry manufacturer. The chassis was equipped with a hydraulic exchange platform by Empl. This makes it possible to use different superstructures on the vehicle.
They include a three-way tipper with hydraulically foldable side walls and a hydraulically foldable rear flap. The same base can also be used with a high-strength Empl tipper body.
In addition to these two tipper superstructures, it is also possible to attach a building materials platform to the vehicle for the transport building materials or containers. These superstructures make it possible to attach a crane to the frame, which can be removed from the rear. The crane is a Hiab 211 with radio remote control and a seven-fold sliding extension, including equipment for gripper operation.
It is also possible to attach a semi-trailer interface in order to tow a tipper or flat-bed semi-trailer.
Additional options for attaching a snow-plough and a spreader to the chassis were requested, to facilitate keeping the roads in the Ötztal Glacier region open for general traffic.
