Customers from the Emirate of Qatar have been among the most loyal of Empl’s partners for decades. Now Empl has become the first European manufacturer to deliver breathing apparatus superstructures to Qatar.
Following the recent delivery of five water tank trailers with a capacity of 30,000 litres and ten command vehicles to the Civil Defence ministry in Qatar, Empl is now the first European manufacturer to ship two breathing apparatus bodies to the emirate.
BREATHING APPARATUS VEHICLES
The two breathing apparatus superstructures are mounted on Mercedes Benz Atego 1528 F 4x2 chassis. The front section of the box body is produced using the proven aluminium sandwich panel construction method. The rear compartment is equipped with specially produced sound-insulated panels that provide protection against all kinds of electromagnetic radiation. Each side of the body is equipped with three aluminium roller-shutters.
The operations room is accessible from the rear via a swing door and a ladder that can be slid into the underbody. It has two hinged windows on the side and a single-glazed safety glass window in the door. A 15 kVA, sound-insulated diesel generator has been mounted in the underfloor area behind the rear axle on the left side, seen in the driving direction. Air conditioning for the control room has been integrated into the roof. The control room has a mask-washing facility with its own water supply and a work-bench designed to serve as a PC workstation and as an assembly station for the chargers.
The vehicle has space for 80 complete respiratory devices, including cylinders mounted on turning shelves, and 100 reserve cylinders in bottle racks. All lighting is of the LED type. A reversing camera ensures additional safety and an optimal 360° view.
