EMPL apprentices are Austria's best vehicle construction technicians Double victory at the federal apprenticeship competition

From October 14th to 16th, 2022, the 62 best metal technicians from 8 federal states were able to demonstrate their skills at the federal apprenticeship competition in Klagenfurt. The EMPL company is particularly proud that its apprentices Franz Haberl and Philipp Firlinger managed to bring 1st and 2nd place in the field of vehicle construction technology to Tyrol. Great recognition and praise for this terrific achievement.

"That was impressive. We are very happy with these top placings for our young talents," says Armin Ehammer, apprentice trainer at EMPL. "In an industry that is constantly changing in terms of technology and where further development and training are key factors, achieving such a result - even a double victory - is not a given and makes us incredibly proud."

Franz Haberl and Philipp Firlinger, who are in their 4th year of apprenticeship at the Zillertal truck body manufacturer EMPL, impressed at the nationwide apprentice competition with their precise yet fast, determined work in both the theoretical and practical parts of the exam.

EMPL is one of the top apprentice trainers in the country and, as an "Excellent Tyrolean training company", has been offering young people a secure and promising future perspective for many years. Every year, almost 30 apprentices receive in-depth, comprehensive training at the highest level in one of the 7 apprenticeships. The apprentice aptitude tests take place at the beginning of the year. There are two dates to choose from in 2023: Saturday, January 21st and Saturday, March 18th

Federal apprentice competition
The best apprentices in Austria compete in the federal apprentice competitions. At this year's perfectly organized competition in the workshops of the WIFI Technology Center in Klagenfurt, one thing in particular stood out: In addition to accuracy, speed, patience and determination in the areas of theory and practice, the young participants showed above all passion, ambition and self-criticism.

A colorful supporting program with a boat trip on Lake Wörthersee, fireworks, a gala evening and an award ceremony helped the young talent and their supervisors to enjoy the event despite the effort involved and to celebrate their successes appropriately.
