As a manufacturer of special-purpose vehicles, EMPL will also be represented with an impressive display vehicle at booth 444 in Hall B
Under the slogan "Your Vision. Our Challenge," EMPL presents itself as a manufacturer of special-purpose vehicles and a competent partner for specialized body solutions for the construction and municipal sectors. Satisfied customers include renowned major Austrian customers such as Bodner Bau, HTS Transporte, Hollaus Bau, Stock GmbH, Tiwag, the State of Tyrol, and the Austrian Federal Army, as well as southern German construction companies, which also demand customized solutions due to their topographically challenging requirements. As is typical for EMPL, the customer vehicle on display, from Kosta Gerhard GmbH in Brixlegg, is tailored to the user's requirements and wishes. The dump truck version is specially designed for extreme rock transport applications, carrying two to three rocks weighing up to 17 tons with a maximum total weight of 32 tons. For internal transport, the payload increases to up to 25 tons thanks to a technical total weight of 40 tons.
Rock Dumper – Customer Kosta Gerhard GmbH
The rock dumper body, without corner supports and with a foldable side wall, is based on a 4-axle Mercedes-Benz Arocs 4152 8x4 Euro VI, designed for trailer operation. The dumper body, with its frame construction made of highly wear-resistant special steel with high tensile strength, features slanted stiffening beams, widened and reinforced rear bulkheads, and stiffeners on the floor connecting the side walls. The internal dimensions are 5,600 x 2,340 x 950 mm.
The body features a special low-profile press for an optimal center of gravity, a hydraulically folding side wall on the left side of the vehicle, and a split rear wall. The three-way tipping design, combined with the hydraulically folding side wall, makes the vehicle more versatile, offering side loading for bulky components or allowing it to be used for shoulder dumping. The upper section is designed as a pendulum rear wall made of aluminum, while the lower section is hydraulically folding in steel. The front wall is reinforced with angle profiles, features a cab guard, and has a shelf for attaching an asphalt tarpaulin. The side walls also feature welded reinforcement angles.
For securing the load, there are four pairs of tie-down eyes in the lower floor assembly, three pairs of lashing hooks in the floor, two pairs of tie-down eyes in the bulkhead, and four pairs of tie-down rods in the side walls. Additional tailgate supports are installed for transporting 8 t excavators. Additional features include aluminum fender covers, aluminum checkered plate cladding for the diesel tank, aluminum checkered plate rear light guards, a toolbox, shovel and broom with brackets on the bulkhead, snow chain hooks, and a pneumatically folding underride guard suitable for pavers.
