EMPL recently started operations in a new production building at the Kaltenbach site for manufacturing heavy-duty recovery vehicles, significantly expanding its production capacities for special-purpose vehicles in this sector.
EMPL is known for meeting the highest requirements, current product innovations and the implementation of individual customer requests in all areas. Clever, customised systems, well though-out concepts and permanent product optimisation have secured the market leadership position for EMPL in the field of heavy-duty recovery vehicles for many years.
50 to 90 units are shipped to customers all over the world every year. To meet the rising demand, the company recently invested in a new production building.
The new building feature an additional 550 m² production area as well as offices. A 370 m² covered storage area is directly linked to the new workshop complex. This now allows continuous flow production with an optimum production process sequence and optimised production times.
This is an important step towards improving the company’s ability to react to customer requirements and to the increasing demand for customised special superstructures.
Investments in recent years
Extensive conversions and investments in new machinery followed between 2016 and 2018, including a welding robot system and a fully automated bending cell at the main plant in Kaltenbach. With the “EMPL Academy”, which started up in September 2016, the company made a forward looking investment in the education and training of its employees and in training facilities for its customers.
The construction of a new, separate building with linked storage especially for rescue and recovery vehicles set another strong signal for the special-purpose vehicles division.
In recent years, turnover increased substantially, ever new markets have been opened up successfully and existing markets were expanded. In 2019, the Empl group of companies achieved a turnover of approx. 135 million euros with around 560 employees in Austria and Germany.
