EMPL is the first European manufacturer to deliver new vehicles to Nigeria in a long time. At the end of last year, ten identical TLF 6000/500 were handed over to the Federal Fire Service Nigeria.
Abuja, late December 2017 - a historical moment. Herbert Empl hands over ten identical new TLF 6000/500 water tenders to the Nigerian Minister of the Interior, Abdulrahman B. Dambazau, and the Commander of the Federal Fire Services Nigeria, Anebi Garba Joseph. In a successful ceremony, the new vehicles were officially taken into service in the presence of important guests from politics and industry.
At the handover, Herbert Empl stressed the great cooperation as well as what an honour it was for EMPL to be the first European manufacturer in many years to have the opportunity to deliver new, customised vehicles. Five additional identical vehicles have already been ordered.
The fire fighting bodies are set on MAN TGM 18.280 4x2 BB chassis with double cab. The driver and crew compartment is designed for a team of 1+5.
The vehicles are equipped with a 6,000l fibreglass water tank and a 500l foam tank. The left and right side of the body each feature two equipment compartments with dustproof and waterproof roll-up doors. These contain four breathing apparatuses, ABC powder extinguishers, CO² extinguishers, a hydro shield, multi - purpose pipes, different adapters, spotlights, first aid boxes, a 10 x 25m hose and many other items. A door on the rear provides access to an FPN 10/3000 integrated pump with 30m fast attack and optional foam attachment. The walk - on roof is fitted with a 360° rotating water-foam cannon with a capacity of 2,400l/8 bar as well as a retractable ladder.
