HLF 2 – FF Hollenthon
The Hollenthon Volunteer Fire Department's rescue vehicle 2 (HLF 2) is built on a MAN TGM 16.320 4x4 and combines modern technology with high operational flexibility. The driver and crew compartment is designed for a crew of 1+8, providing optimal working conditions for the emergency team. Three seats are equipped with EMPL Eagle breathing apparatus holders for two-cylinder devices, allowing for quick and safe preparation for breathing apparatus deployment even during the approach.
A 2,000-liter water tank with electric tank heating is available for firefighting operations, supplemented by a 120-liter foam tank. A powerful NP 3000 FPN 10/2000 centrifugal fire pump is located at the rear of the vehicle. The integrated Cameleon low-pressure foam proportioning system and a rapid intervention reel with 30 meters of rubber hose enable fast and efficient firefighting operations. Operation is via the modern EMPL H.I.T. control system with an intuitive display. Two additional rapid intervention devices – a C rapid intervention device and a distributor rapid intervention device – are housed in space-saving stainless steel recesses in the underfloor storage compartments (equipment compartments G5 and G6).
Two powerful LED roof lights on the front of the vehicle illuminate the work area to the front. The HLF 2 is also equipped with a Treibmatic TR030/7 cable winch with a forward cable extension. The vehicle roof features two spacious roof boxes, a two-part extension ladder, and the EMPL Function Light light mast, which provides extensive illumination during nighttime operations.
The vehicle's extensive equipment allows for a wide range of applications: On board are, among other things, a power generator, a hydraulic rescue kit, a lifting bag set, shackles, a Southern Runway winch, a battery-powered fan, an underwater pump, a wet vacuum, and various fire extinguishers (powder, CO₂, Bioversal wet extinguisher). The equipment is complemented by floodlights, a hydroshield, and extensive hose equipment and other specialized equipment for technical assistance and firefighting.
TLFA 2000/1000 – FF Kolsass
The Kolsass Volunteer Fire Department's TLFA 2000/100 PRIMUS tank fire engine impresses with modern technology, high operational readiness, and sophisticated functionality. Built on a MAN TGM 16.320 4x4, the all-wheel-drive chassis offers reliable off-road capability and optimal capabilities for demanding operations. The crew compartment is designed for a crew of 1+8 and is equipped with three EMPL Eagle breathing apparatus mounts. A special highlight is the integrated sunroof with a walkable Plexiglas window, which further enhances the interior. An air conditioning system can be retrofitted at any time if required.
The vehicle features a 2,000-liter water tank and a 100-liter foam tank, making it ideally equipped for firefighting and firefighting operations. A TO 3000 FPN 10/3000 – FPH 40/250 centrifugal fire pump, combined with the Cameleon low-pressure foam proportioning system, is mounted at the rear. A high-pressure quick-intervention hose reel with a 60-meter rubber hose enables rapid action in an emergency. The pump is intuitively controlled via the modern EMPL H.I.T. display control panel. A B-pressure outlet is also installed at the front of the vehicle, as are two powerful LED roof lights.
The vehicle roof offers further functional highlights: Two spacious roof boxes provide additional storage space, a four-section extension ladder with a connecting section expands tactical options, and the powerful roof monitor can also be operated from the ground if necessary. An integrated traffic control system and the EMPL Function Light light mast round out the equipment package.
The load is designed for a wide range of deployment scenarios: This includes a power generator, a high-performance fan, a battery-powered fan, floodlights, a submersible pump, a water vacuum, a set of lifting bags, and various extinguishing agents – including powder extinguishers, CO₂ extinguishers, and a foam extinguisher with a constant pressure system. A hydroshield, extensive hose material, and other accessories make the TLFA PRIMUS a powerful all-rounder for fire and technical operations.
WLFK mit AB-Logistik – FF Brixlegg
The Brixlegg Volunteer Fire Department's swap body vehicle with crane (WLFK) and roll-off container logistics (AB-Logistik) is a highly specialized vehicle for logistical tasks, technical assistance, and special situations. Built on a powerful Mercedes-Benz Actros 2551, the vehicle offers an impressive combination of power, precision, and versatility. Equipped with a Multilift Ultima 18Z.56 roll-off tipper and a HIAB X-HIPRO 232 E-5 loading crane, it meets the highest demands of firefighting service.
The powerful crane is equipped with a wide range of additional equipment, including a universal grab, a cable winch, a two-person access basket, and a pallet fork. Additionally, an electric foam or water monitor can be mounted directly on the crane using a quick-change system. Special suspension eyes are provided on the crane for use with B-type pressure hoses – a well-thought-out solution for maximum operational flexibility.
On the sides of the vehicle are spacious tool boxes, specially designed for quick access to equipment such as launchers, round slings, lifting straps, eyelets, chain slings, powder extinguishers, and other technical equipment. Every detail is designed to increase efficiency and safety during operations.
The vehicle concept also includes an AB logistics system, equipped with a practical sliding roof, side sliding tarpaulins, and a rear frame lift with a load capacity of 1,500 kg at a 750 mm load center. The load is professionally secured using lashing brackets, airline rails, lever locks, round locking beams, and ratchet lashing straps. A roof made of translucent tarpaulin material ensures optimal light in the interior.
With this equipment, the Brixlegg Fire Department's WLFK is a true all-rounder – designed for demanding logistics operations, technical assistance, and support during firefighting operations and major disasters.
SRF-K – FF Lustenau
The Lustenau Volunteer Fire Department's Heavy Rescue Vehicle (SRF), built on a MAN TGS 28.520, is a state-of-the-art specialized vehicle for technical rescue operations of any size. A Palfinger PK 370 TEC loading crane is mounted at the rear, equipped with a 2.5-ton cable winch on the articulated boom – ideal for precise and powerful lifting and recovery operations. It also features a work basket and a log grab with a continuous rotator. At the front of the vehicle, a Rotzler TR080/7 Fire cable winch with a constant pulling force of 8 tons ensures maximum pulling power during technical operations. Two integrated LED roof lights support the emergency personnel.
The vehicle roof offers a variety of functional elements: three spacious roof boxes, a step ladder, powerful roof lights, a rear warning system, and a 360° bird's-eye view camera system for a perfect overview. A special highlight is the EMPL Function Light light mast, which is pneumatically extendable and electrically rotatable and pivotable. Six powerful LED headlights with 77,500 lumens provide comprehensive illumination all around the vehicle. The walkable roof area is accessible via a folding aluminum ladder on the passenger side. Central functions are operated intuitively via the EMPL H.I.T. control system on a 12-inch color display in the driver's compartment.
On both sides, the equipment compartments are sealed dust- and watertight by two robust, powder-coated Empl aluminum roller shutters. Equipped with barlock fasteners, integrated hand guards, and self-tensioning rubber bands, they are safe and easy to operate. The LED interior lighting in the equipment compartments is activated without contact and provides optimal visibility with diagonally inward-illuminating light strips. In addition, there are equipment compartments between the front and rear axles with underfloor flaps that, when unfolded, serve as free-standing platforms with a load capacity of 270 kg. Folding fenders ensure a level surface in the area of the rear axle, further improving access and ergonomics.
A powerful 30 kVA built-in generator and an air compressor are installed in the vehicle body. A pneumatic quick-intervention reel and an electrical quick-intervention reel (400 V / 2 x 230 V) are available for rapid deployment.
The extensive equipment makes the SRF an indispensable tool for technical operations: This includes a hydraulic rescue kit, lifting bag set, support timbers, a grab winch, a trolley jack, basket stretchers, chain slings, round slings, shackles, lifting straps, and various power tools and cutting equipment such as a chainsaw, cut-off grinder, impact wrench, and a hand-held circular saw. An LED floodlight, submersible pumps, and small fire extinguishers are also on board. A sliding tool wall for entrenching tools, which can be extended on both sides, ensures organized storage and quick access.
SRF-K – FF Schruns
The Schruns Volunteer Fire Department's Heavy Rescue Vehicle (SRF), mounted on an all-terrain Tatra Phoenix T 158 chassis, is a highly specialized emergency vehicle for technical rescue operations under the most demanding conditions. Exhibited at the Tschann company booth (open-air area FE.140), it showcases sophisticated technology, robust construction, and impressive versatility.
The superstructure houses a powerful 30 kVA built-in generator, which ensures the power supply for all electrical devices. For rapid intervention, both a pneumatic quick-intervention reel and an electrical quick-intervention reel (400 V / 2 x 230 V) are available – ideal for flexible operation of tools directly on site.
Two powerful LED roof lights are installed on the front of the vehicle, complemented by a Rotzler Treibmatic TR030/7 Fire cable winch with front extension – a powerful pulling device for demanding rescues. The roof is equipped with a modern 360° bird's-eye view camera system and a high-performance light mast with an impressive 70,400 lumens of light output – for perfect illumination even during nighttime or large-scale operations.
The equipment compartments on both sides are equipped with two solid, powder-coated, lockable Empl aluminum roller shutters, as in the SRF Lustenau. They are dust- and watertight, run smoothly, and can be operated safely and conveniently thanks to bar-lock closures with integrated hand guards. The roof above the equipment compartments is accessible via a ladder at the rear of the vehicle.
Between the front and rear axles, there is a low compartment with underfloor flaps that, when extended, serve as stable freestanding platforms capable of supporting loads of up to 270 kg. This sophisticated design is complemented by an extendable platform above the first rear axle.
At the rear of the vehicle is a powerful Palfinger PK 250 TEC loading crane, equipped with a 2.5-ton cable winch on the articulated boom. For high-altitude or specialized work, a 280 kg work basket for two people and additional equipment are included – a perfect combination of reach, safety, and versatility.
The Schruns SRF's load-bearing equipment leaves nothing to be desired. It carries a power generator, grab hoist, capstan winch, rescue stretcher, animal rescue slings, small firefighting equipment, a telescopic ladder, a shunting dolly, a hydraulic rescue kit, modern battery-powered rescue equipment, a rescue platform, a lifting bag set, several submersible pumps, a southern runway winch, powerful floodlights, and many other specialized tools for a wide variety of deployment scenarios. An integrated sliding tool wall ensures organized storage and quick access.
TLF 5000/1000 – BtF Infineon Technologies Austria AG Villach
The Infineon fire department's fire pumper is built on a modern Scania P 500 B6x2*4 chassis with a spacious CrewCab – a crew compartment specially developed for emergency services that meets the highest standards of ergonomics, safety, and flexibility.
The driver and crew compartment is designed for a crew of 1+6 emergency personnel. The crew compartment features individually adjustable seats mounted on aluminum profile systems, allowing for flexible loading configurations. Five of the seats are equipped with the proven EMPL Eagle breathing apparatus mounts, including a yellow-marked safety opening in the seat cushion. Two action towers provide additional storage space for equipment. A separate mount for two additional breathing apparatuses and masks is mounted in the driver's compartment. Pneumatically retractable safety steps specially developed by EMPL with integrated step lighting below the crew compartment doors ensure safe entry and exit.
The equipment compartments on the left and right are each equipped with three solid, powder-coated EMPL aluminum roller shutters, which are dustproof and waterproof, as well as extremely smooth-running. The rear equipment compartment is closed off with a tailgate with an integrated roller door, providing convenient access to the pump equipment and rapid intervention equipment.
The heart of the vehicle is its powerful extinguishing technology: a 5,000-liter water tank and a 1,000-liter foam tank form the foundation. At the rear is an NP 6000 S built-in pump with a flow rate of 6,000 l/min at 10 bar, combined with the modern CTD Iguane 120/30 foam proportioning system. At the front, a powerful 2,000-liter monitor with pump & roll function is installed – complemented by a road wash boom with a separate pressure outlet. Numerous options are available for rapid intervention: a 30 m C-folding hose with hollow jet nozzle, a 20 m B-pressure hose with distributor, a 30 m low-pressure rapid intervention reel, a 30 m electrical rapid intervention reel, and a 20 m compressed air rapid intervention reel. A powerful 30 kVA built-in generator reliably supplies all electrically powered equipment during operations.
The vehicle roof is accessible above the equipment compartment and features a non-slip coating. A glare-free illuminated aluminum ladder at the rear – which folds down at the bottom – allows safe access. The roof features a roof monitor mounted on a lifting carriage with a pump & roll function and an output of 4,000 l/min, three roof boxes (one of which is mounted on an electrically lowerable ladder), a multifunctional ladder, a 360° bird's-eye view camera system, a rear warning system, an automatically opening folding railing as a fall protection device, and a robust side awning made of weatherproof tarpaulin. The EMPL Function Light light mast with eight LED spotlights provides perfect illumination, providing both targeted and wide-area light.
The extensive load makes the pumper a versatile tool: It carries, among other things, a hydraulic rescue kit, the Paratech support system, a positive pressure ventilation device, the Rescue-Tec substructure system, a rescue platform, a water vacuum, a submersible pump, a fog extinguishing system, portable water cannons and many other special devices for fire and technical operations.
