From June 5-7, Kassel will once again become a mecca for the recovery and towing industry. EMPL will once again be represented at the IFBA with towing vehicles this year. The Austrian body specialist is a multi-talented expert in the recovery and towing sector.
The renowned German towing company "Josef Eichenseher GmbH" from Munich, the recovery and towing service "Abschleppdienst Widliczek GmbH" from Dortmund, and "AGB Tag & Nacht Dienstleistungs-GmbH" from Bamberg, among many others, rely on EMPL towing technology.
EH/W 200 BISON – EICHENSEHER
The Munich-based company "Josef Eichenseher GmbH" is a broadly positioned company that, in addition to towing and recovery services, also offers vehicle transport/relocation services in Germany and abroad, crane work, pickup service, car rental, and much more. Based on positive experience, this is already the fifth EMPL Bison in Werner Eichenseher's fleet, most recently in 2023.
The vehicle, mounted on a Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3263, is equipped with a 20-ton main winch and an additional 10-ton winch on the main boom. An additional 10-ton winch is installed on the subframe, with a lateral extension on the right in the direction of travel and hydraulic outriggers. All operations are carried out via radio remote control. As a further highlight, the two recovery outriggers can be hydraulically extended an additional 400 mm on the right and left.
The custom-made storage compartments, which house all towing equipment and a tool cabinet, are made entirely of stainless steel and feature black anodized railings with integrated LED lighting. Additional storage trays are located between the storage compartments and the main boom. Ballast weights under and behind the cab ensure full load on the front axle and optimize the towing process. The vehicle is also equipped with an Operator Safety System (OSS) with a visual display of driving safety at the operator's station. A 12" display is available for this purpose. This system continuously monitors rear axle overload and front axle unloading, taking technical and legal requirements into account. Work lights, ambient/equipment compartment lighting, warning light bars, and much more can also be controlled in this regard. Three rear-view cameras on the main boom, articulated boom, and support leg ensure sufficient visibility.
EH/W 200 BISON – WIDLICZEK
The family-run company "Abschleppdienst Widliczek GmbH" has been operating as a professional service provider in the fields of recovery, breakdown assistance, and towing of cars, trucks, and buses in the Ruhr region for over 35 years. The new vehicle was relocated and sold by EMPL together with its partner company Dietrich GmbH.
The vehicle is based on a MAN TGS 41.520 8X4. A 20-ton winch and a 15-ton winch are mounted on the main boom, which features an integrated telescopic recovery arm. All operations are carried out via a proportional radio remote control. The stainless steel storage compartments feature double keyhole rails for adjustable storage compartments and 180° swiveling storage compartments. Additional storage trays are located between the storage compartments and the main boom. Furthermore, the vehicle features extendable running boards on the left and right sides of the body, a Milwaukee Vario M 18 set, an additional hose reel for air, and a tool drawer cabinet.
The towing accessories are cathodic dip-coated. The articulating cylinder and lifting cylinders are chrome-nickel plated for protection against corrosion and stone chips. Safety features include ballast weights under and behind the cab, flyers, a comprehensive lighting package (rotating beacons, position lights, work lights, flashing lights, etc.), LED railing, a reversing video system, and cameras on the top and bottom support legs and on the propeller roller.
