On May 16, Federal Minister Mag. Klaudia Tanner paid a visit to the Zillertal special body manufacturer EMPL in Kaltenbach. There she was able to inspect some of the vehicles commissioned by the Austrian Armed Forces in detail and was impressed by the quality and the many years of good, cooperative partnership.
On Tuesday, EMPL had the honor of welcoming Federal Minister of Defense Mag. Klaudia Tanner with a delegation and the military commander of Tyrol, Bgdr. Ingo Gstrein. The Defense Minister was able to gain a good overview of the Austrian Armed Forces' orders currently in production. In addition to the medium-sized recovery vehicles, which are already being delivered, EMPL presented fire extinguishing containers, versatile distribution vehicles, hook loading systems, flatbeds and trailers. "The Armed Forces have already had a 20-year partnership with the traditional company EMPL. Not only the soldiers, who can count on the best materials and the most modern technology, benefit from this cooperation, but also the region. With the investments and orders, the EMPL company secures around 430 jobs and trains around 30 apprentices," said the Federal Minister during her visit to Tyrol.
During the visit, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of local value creation, job security and a supply of spare parts in Austria with supply chains that are as undisturbed as possible, even in times of crisis. The management thanked the FBM and the representatives of the Austrian Armed Forces present for the fact that the Austrian Armed Forces vehicles that have already been delivered are always available as reference vehicles for international delegations. As a result, EMPL has always been able to win tenders worldwide, thereby securing jobs in Austria or creating new ones.
