EMPL at BAUMA 2022 in Munich!

BAUMA, the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, was held in Munich from 24 to 30 October. The 7 day trade fair boasted more than 3000 exhibitors on over 600,000 m². As a manufacturer of special-purpose vehicles, EMPL exhibited 2 interesting vehicles at stand 448 in hall B4.

Following the slogan “Your vision. Our challenge.”, EMPL presented itself as a manufacturer of special-purpose vehicles and a professional partner for truck body solutions in the fields of construction and transport. As always with EMPL, the vehicles on show were tailored to meet the requirements and wishes of the respective users. The vehicles were two 3-way tippers with front crane on a MAN TGS 28.510 6x4 and a Scania R 500 6x4.

In order to maintain and further develop the relationship with the customer after the vehicle has been delivered, the Training and After Sales departments are an important part of the company. The declared objectives at EMPL are to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and optimum vehicle performance. EMPL trains and advises its customers worldwide, both on site and at the in-house EMPL Academy, ensuring continuous contact with customers even after delivery and handover.

3-way tipper – customer: MAN Munich
A MAN TGS 28.510 6x4*4 Euro VI with steering / lifting axle was used as a base. The EMPL TITAN-ALU-3-way tipper body is equipped with a tipper bridge welded from high-quality fine-grain steel profiles, with a 5 mm base plate. The floor assembly features recessed lashing eyes with a load capacity of 4 t. The front panel with recessed lashing eyes is equipped with 2 corner supports, 2 front supports and crosswise reinforcements for optimum stability. The front panel features a ladder and a raised section with lateral supports for long items, including lashing eyes. Additional lashing rods in the side panels and underneath the tipper bridge are provided for securing cargo. Based on a customer requirement for snow clearing and salt spreading tasks, the hydraulic tailgate was designed with a special opening angle of 150°.

The side and rear panels are made of 55 mm hollow aluminium profiles. The panel profiles and the bridge structure are adapted to an inner width of 2,440 mm, especially for container transport. The side panel on the right in direction of travel can be folded down and is equipped with a lifting spring. On the left in direction of travel, the hydraulically folding side panel, with a load capacity of 500 kg on the 90° folded panel. The side frame of the tipper bridge is equipped with flow rails.

A Hiab 162 E3 HIPRO front loading crane is installed behind the driver's cab. An attachment plate for winter service is installed at the front the vehicle.

3-way tipper – customer: Anton Wildauer Earthworks and Transports
A Scania R 500 B 6x4 HA Euro VI forms the basis for the 3-way tipper for Anton Wildauer, a company specialising in earth moving and container transports. The tipper bridge is also welded from high-quality fine-grain steel profiles with a 5 mm base plate and equipped with removable corner supports at the rear.

The side panels are made of torsion-resistant 55 mm hollow chamber steel elements. The inner width of 2,440 mm is designed specially for container transports. On the left in direction of travel, the body is equipped with automatic side panel tipping with hydraulic side panel locking at the front and rear, as well as a hydraulic fold-down function for the front panel. The rear was equipped with a hydraulic tailgate, including the upper aluminium rear panel. The raised front panel with supports for long items and tie-down eyes are galvanised. Folding hooks, lashing eyes and lashing recesses offer extensive options for securing cargo. Stainless steel tool chests and an aluminium storage tray offer plenty of storage space.

A Palfinger PK 22.022 EH-D front loading crane with hydraulic 5-fold extension is installed behind the driver's cab. A raised platform with radio system can be accessed with a ladder. The side supports can be hydraulically extended to 6.6 m and rotated 180°. In addition, the crane features a 4.5 t endless rotator including a 400 l 2-shell gripper with hooks welded onto the side.
