FLORIAN trade fair: EMPL presented an interesting LF 20 for Jena

EMPL exhibited an LF 20 for the Jena-Winzerla fire brigade at the FLORIAN trade fair 2019 in Dresden. The pumper on a new Scania chassis with CrewCab was an absolute highlight for many visitors.

The FLORIAN trade fair for fire fighting, civil defence and disaster control, which took place in Dresden from 10 to 12 October, is a great success story. On 18,000 square metres, more than 270 exhibitors from 12 countries presented current technologies and concepts for decision makers from fire brigades, rescue services and civil protection.

LF 20 PUMPER FOR JENA-WINZERLA FIRE BRIGADE
The new LF 20 for the Jena-Winzerla fire brigade is built on a Scania P280 B4x4 HA EURO 6 chassis. The driver and crew compartment is designed for a team of 1+8. 4 seats are equipped with EMPL-Eagle breathing apparatus mounts.

The superstructure is manufactured from ALU-Tech sandwich panels. The water tank has a capacity of 1,000 litres, while the foaming agent tank holds 120 litres. The rear features a low-pressure centrifugal fire fighting pump NP 3000 – FPN 10/2000, a distributor fast attack and a foam fast attack device for a 30 m type C folding hose. Two folding standing platforms are mounted to the right and left of the control station. A Z4 proportioner is used for foam addition. The control follows the recommendations of the AGBF (Working Group of Managers of German Professional Fire Services).

The complete lighting system including an EMPL Function Light mast with 6 spotlights and a traffic warning system uses LED technology. The roof can be accessed via a folding rear ladder and features, among other things, a roof box with folding cover and a 2-part telescopic ladder.

The additional equipment includes a reversing video system with an LCD flatscreen monitor, a lowering portable pump extension, a 360 m type B hose in loops for placement while driving, a foot switch for the special signalling system, accident data recorder, and much more.

Furthermore, a TLF 4000 pumper for the forest-fire units of the Bautzen and Görlitz fire brigade was presented at the stand of the Saxony State Ministry inside Hall 3.
