IFBA 2019 – EMPL presented two heavy-duty recovery vehicles in Kassel.

24/06/2019

The Austrian truck body specialist EMPL is regarded as an all-rounder in the field of rescue and recovery. Two vehicles were presented at IFBA in Kassel, Europe’s largest trade fair for the rescue and recovery industry. We want to take this opportunity to thank the numerous visitors to our trade fair stand for the pleasant, constructive discussions.

Once again, two heavy-duty recovery vehicles from renowned German companies will be presented at this year's IFBA. “Bergungsdienst Brameier GmbH” from Schopsdorf and “Rigra GmbH” from Siegsdorf both once again relied on recovery technology from EMPL.

EH/W 200 BISON - BRAMEIER
EMPL was already able to deliver an EMPL Bison on an MB Actros chassis to Brameier based in Schopsdorf in 2011. A Mercedes Benz Arocs 41.63 8x4/4 serves as a chassis for the new rescue vehicle that was handed over to the customer at the trade fair. A 30 t winch and a 15 t winch are mounted on the main boom with an integrated telescopic recovery boom. An additional 10 t winch is mounted on the support frame with an extension at the side (in the direction of travel) and a hydraulic support.

The customised storage boxes that accommodate all towing utensils (lifting forks, bolts, towing bar etc.) are made completely from stainless steel and are equipped with a handrail with integrated LED lighting. A light mast ensures additional safety while working. The towing accessories have a CTC coating. Ballast weights with a total weight of 3.2 t mounted behind and underneath the cab transfer the weight to the front axles during the towing process.

A strong stainless steel bull bar with a rubber bumper and a light bar on the driver's cab add to the powerful look of the robust vehicle. Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with a telescopic ladder, extensive winch accessories and load attachment gear as well as a rescue equipment package including crowbar, heavy-duty hammer, bolt cutter, assembly roller, waste box, oil absorbent, etc.

EH/W 200 BISON – RIGRA
BISONS from EMPL were already delivered to the recovery company in Siegsdorf in 2004 and 2011. An MAN TGS 41.500 8X4 BB chassis forms the basis for the new customer vehicle. The vehicle is equipped with a 30 t main winch and another 15 t winch on the main boom. As the first vehicle presented, it also has an additional 10 t winch on the support frame with an extension at the side (in the direction of travel) and a hydraulic support. The ballast weight is approx. 4 t.

The storage boxes in the body are made from stainless steel and have double keyhole rails for adjustable storage compartments. The knuckle boom cylinder and the lifting cylinder are finished with a chromium-nickel coating for protection against corrosion and stone impact. The main and knuckle booms as well as the extension and the winches can be operated with a radio remote control. Numerous work lights ensure safe and prudent working conditions.

The entire EMPL team would like to take this opportunity to thank all customers for their trust and the longstanding good cooperation!

EMPL: advantage through progress!
